Hades

Hamartiology
The technical theological term for the study of the doctrine of sin.

Heresy
Beliefs that are in opposition to what are considered correct doctrines of the Christian faith. Because there are many conflicting views on many areas of theology between various Christian denominations, churches and individual believers, heresy is often viewed as an inherently relative term in that what one group calls orthodoxy the other names as heresy. That it is relative is further compounded by the fact that there are no universally-accepted criteria for defining when what might be considered an "incorrect" view actually rises to the level of heresy. For example, denial of the deity of Christ would almost universally be viewed as heresy. However, a difference concerning the extent of the atonement (limited or unlimited), although significant, is generally not enough for one to be labeled as a "heretic" (although it might be enough for some to make that accusation).
