Jesus-only theology
The heretical view that denies the doctrine of the triunity of God. Proponents of this view believe that there is only one God in only one person, in contrast to the biblical position that there is one God who eternally subsists as three distinct persons. According to Jesus-only theology, the various persons of God are only modes or differences of function - with God sometimes appearing or relating to man at sometimes as the Father, sometimes as the Son and sometimes as the Spirit. The United Pentecostals are one of the largest "Jesus-only" denominations in the United States.
