Does Dispensationalism have Gnostic Qualities / Tendencies?
Please read this comment first: Dispensationalism certainly has more than its fair share of critics and there is definitely a trend toward more and stronger of what can only be characterized as “anti-dispensational” rhetoric. However, this question has to be ranked as one of the more strange ones I have come across. In the next few days I will write a brief article as a response. Suffice it to say that no dispensationalist takes anything remotely resembling a Gnostic view in the spiritual versus physical question. Jesus’ resurrected in a physical body of flesh and bone. We believe that our resurrection body will be physical in every sense, the millennial kingdom will be literal and therefore physical and the New Heavens and New Earth will be literal and physical.

I won’t be spending a lot of time on this and some may say these kinds of things are so far “out there” that they aren’t worth bothering with. However, I do think it is at least important to be aware of just how much dispensationalism is under attack on so many fronts. And even these “way out” ideas can have significance because of the rapid and broad dissemination of information via the internet. (In fact, this relates to a topic I plan to deal with in at least an article and perhaps even a book on “Theology and Technology.
